• "Delete" in the 3rd Wordless International Short Film Festival
2011-12-08Wordless was conceived in 2005 by an Australian association ICYMAN (International Children and Youth Multimedia Access Network) auspice by Cinewest. The main objective of this event is to provide a platform for filmmakers and young festival organizers from around the world. Also, Wordless aims to overcome economical restrictions in admission costs, selection process and subtitling expenses. The festival is available to all countries wishing to hold the 4th edition in upcoming years!
In 2006, the first edition was organized by a group of young Iranian filmmakers led by Mr. Behnam Abasifar (23 years old), held in ‘Maybood’, which is an ancient township in the heart of Yazd Province Iran, supported by the Iranian Islamic Ministry for the Arts. In 2007, the second edition was organized by a group of young Indian filmmakers led by Mr. Nikhil Acharya (19 years old), held in Hyderabad, which is also an ancient city situated in the central southern part of India.
3rd Wordless International Short Film Festival was held at Islamic Azad University in Kerman Iran during November 14, 2011. The 3rd Edition was organized by IAUK students led by Mr. Alireza Mommayezzadeh (22 years old) to further engage film and visual art students from Kerman College of Fine Arts’ to attend the screenings. The jury members were amateur and professional filmmakers from Iran. The Festival represented 17 short films from Belgium, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Germany, Iran, Russia, S Korea, Spain and USA.
